Synopsis (short abstract)

This document explores the intersection of gender and social exclusion within social protection programs in Makueni County, Kenya. It examines the barriers women face in accessing these programs and the impact of such exclusions on their well-being and economic empowerment. Through a case study approach, the report highlights the experiences of women in the community, assessing how existing policies either facilitate or hinder their participation. The findings aim to inform policymakers and stakeholders on the necessary reforms needed to create more inclusive social protection frameworks that address the unique challenges faced by women, ultimately fostering greater equity and social justice in the region.
