Synopsis (short abstract)

The East and Southern Africa (ESA) region is among the worst affected areas by the COVID-19 pandemic. The pandemic will continue to affect children’s lives in both the medium and long term. To contain the spread of the virus, governments in the region instituted several measures, including lockdowns and school closures—all of which impact children’s wellbeing.
