Synopsis (short abstract)

This study explores the intersection of digital financial services and social protection for informal workers in Kenya. It examines how mobile money, digital banking and fintech solutions can be leveraged to extend financial inclusion and social safety nets to those working outside the formal economy. The research highlights both opportunities and challenges in using digital tools to improve income security, access to benefits, and resilience among informal workers, aiming to inform policy and program design for a more inclusive social protection system.
