The Kenya Social Protection Sector Review 2012, by Kenya's Ministry of State Planning, National Development and Vision 2030 is now out. The report gives a snap shot of Social Protection in Kenya as well as the challenges and opportunites that have been manifest from conceptualisation and rollout, to future orientation. The document which can be downloaded from our affiliate the Social Protection Actors Forum here is also available in an abridged version known as the Executive Report which can be read here.  We are glad to report that the Sector Review was a collaborative effort that saw government work together with Civil Society Organisations (CSOs), International Development Partners as well as representatives from Academia.

To be more specific a Technical Working Group which is named as one of the key contributors to the document and accredited in Annex 5, has our very own Marion Ouma, Programmes Coordinator for APSP, as a member. We are indeed humbled and proud of the input that she has been able to contribute to the Technical Working Group and urge for continued cooperation between government and civil society. We believe that the document can be used as a learning tool by other platforms and indeed countries which can draw from experience and practice.
