An African continent free from poverty and vulnerability.

Mission Statement

To create partnerships with Civil Society and other organizations to engage with the Governments and International Development Agencies (IDAs) to develop and implement innovative Social Protection strategies and programmes that make a difference in people’s lives in Africa.

Agriculture continues to be the mainstay of many households in Africa who often practice subsistence farming that only seeks to provide what the household needs. This form of agriculture is mainly rain fed and uses rudimentary tools which reduce overall productivity. This is coupled by many other factors that render households vulnerable to shocks both natural and man-made making poverty rampant among these households. Mr. Edmond Odaba, Programme Manager, was in Cape Town, South Africa to discuss the correlation between Agriculture and Social Protectection together with other experts and here is what they had to say (click on the picture for the video).
