There's a New Board in Town

The 2014 Annual General Meeting (AGM) was particularly special because it marked the end of term for the former Board of Directors and a new dawn for the leadership of the APSP. The AGM offered delegates representing the five regions of the African Union (AU) i.e. Central, East, North, South and West Africa the opportunity to vote in regional representatives to constitute the new the Board. The Board is however not complete without the co-option of the Francophone Representative, Special Interests Representative and Treasurer.

The balloting saw the regional representatives voted into the board from whom a Chair and Vice were also elected:

  • Ebenezer Adjetey-Sorsey Western Africa Region Representative (Chair)
  • Peace Murungi - Eastern Africa Regional Representative (Vice)
  • Caroline Kariuki - Treasurer
  • Simon Nhongo - Southern Africa Regional Representative
  • Boniface Nakwagelewi - Central Africa Regional Representative
  • Imed Chaker - Northern Africa Regional Representative
  • Thomas Ongolo - Special Interests Representative
  • Djermakoye Ide - Francophone Regional Representative

We would like to officially congratulate the new Board of Directors and wish them every success in their new role.
