Mission Statement

To create partnerships with Civil Society and other organizations to engage with the Governments and International Development Agencies (IDAs) to develop and implement innovative Social Protection strategies and pro­grammes that make a difference in people’s lives in Africa.

As part of a two year programme on “Strengthening Social Protection to Prevent and Mitigate the Impact of HIV/AIDS, and Poverty in Sub-Saharan Africa” being implemented in consortia by the Africa Platform for Social Protection (APSP) with support from SIDA-NORAD.

The APSP in collaboration with the Platform for Social Protection - Zambia (PSP), organized in Lusaka, Zambia an inception meeting for five (5) National Platforms from Ghana, Kenya, Uganda, Zambia and Zimbabwe. The inception meeting was aimed at running through the concepts of the programme as well as providing training for the National Platforms on tools for enhancing social accountability while ensuring grassroots participation.
