Buziga Resort sits on a slope overlooking Lake Victoria, scattered with little islands on the precipice

of submersion or are they crowning? A coincidence, perhaps not, maybe a carefully calculated message to embody the move from formation to the workings of the Platform, the lake representing the sphere of intervention for Social Protection and the islands the efforts by civil society groups. Uganda Social Protection Platform (USPP) has been making advances in enhancing Social Protection Agenda in Uganda and is at a stage where it needs to consolidate gains by drawing from its core which is its platform. In this respect USPP undertook to strengthen its position in advocating for Social Protection measures by building the capacity of its members to engage more effectively in policy formulation and implementation.

A two day workshop on 7th and 8th June 2012, brought together members of the Civil Society and Government to ponder over how best to strengthen the capacity of USPP members to effectively participate in Social Protection policy development.
